A moment of silence for the passing of the First Lady of the Star Trek universe, Majel Barrett Roddenberry, at the age of 76.

Not only the wife of Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, she also was a major on-screen presence, playing the roles of Nurse Chapel in ST:TOS, and Lwaxana Troi in ST:TNG & ST:DS9. She also provided the voice of the Enterprise computer system in every ST series and movie.

Hopefully, Betazoid funerals aren’t as, shall we say, clothing-optional as their weddings, ’cause I don’t think even Lwaxana would want that…

She lived long & prospered.
